Introducing the Musée Unterlinden’s new iPhone app!

Work continues on the museum’s renovation and expansion project until december 2015. As part of the current phase of this project, the museum’s collections of art from the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance have been temporarily reinstalled on its first floor and at the Dominican church, just steps from the museum. The archaeology galleries, the modern and contemporary art collection, and the wine cellar will remain closed to the public for the duration of the project.

The Musée Unterlinden’s new iPhone app allows you to browse through masterpieces in the museum’s collections and also includes the audioguide for its three most renowned treasures, along with detailed information about these works:

- Masterpieces: descriptions of works, audioguide and other audio excerpts
- High-definition videos presenting the Musée Unterlinden and its collections, including interviews with the museum’s curators
- Complete calendar of museum events: find out what’s happening at the Musée Unterlinden on a day-to-day basis, including exhibitions, gallery talks, special evening openings, themed weekends and other events throughout the year
- Plans and images of the expanded premises for the museum provided by the project’s architects, the Basel-based duo Herzog & de Meuron and Richard Duplat of Monuments Historiques, together with a tour of the project as a whole to learn about how it is giving shape to the museum’s new exhibition spaces
- Visitor information: hours, admission fees, and personalised directions to get to the museum
- Share your favourite works and the latest museum news on social networks (Facebook and Twitter)
